Amsterdam Arena and Ajax Stadium Tours

Being the capital city, Amsterdam is a hotspot for tourist and business activity and within the city there are a number of venues which are used to host the hundreds of events which take place in the city each year. The largest of these venues is the Amsterdam Arena, a stadium which can hold up to 70,000 people.

The arena is based only a 10 minute train journey from the city centre of Amsterdam and is part of one of the most rapidly developing areas of the city. The development of the Amsterdam Arenaarena was the catalyst for this development when it was opened in 1996. Amsterdam Arena was the first stadium in Europe with a sliding roof, a design which quickly caught on and is now visible on many stadiums around the country. Another revolutionary feature of the stadium is the tunnel which runs under it. This tunnel offers glorious views for the cars which pass under the tunnel and leave them with a great impression of the city.

Amsterdam Arena is best known for being the home ground of Ajax football club, who are one of the most successful football clubs in the history of European football. Aside from hosting high profile football matches, the arena displays its flexibility by hosting pop concerts, fairs, exhibitions, dinners and a host of other events.

In terms of traveling to the Amsterdam Arena, it is highly accessible by road and and rail. There are two metro stations within walking distance of the stadium and these are directly connected to Centraal Station.

As an attraction this is place we strongly recommend to visit. The stadium tour is roughly 45 minutes long and gives you the chance to see the inside of the stadium, including to stand on the corner of the pitch and to go inside the Press Room.
